Steak and Mushroom Flatbread

The perfect crowd pleasing appetizer or meal. There is no wrong way to make flatbread. Use store-bought shells or make your own, whatever you have the energy or time for is the right choice.

Ingredients

  • 1 package Steak and Mushroom Stapleton Sausage
  • 4 flatbread pizza crusts
  • ½ cup Gorgonzola or blue cheese, crumbled
  • 1 red onion, sliced
  • 1 green or poblano pepper, sliced
  • 2 cups sliced mushroom of choice (crimini works well)
  • 1 cup arugula
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425° F
  • Pan fry or BBQ sausage
  • Heat oil in a pan or skillet over medium heat, add sliced onions, peppers, and mushrooms with a pinch or two of salt. Cook for 5 mins, or until lightly sauteed. Set aside.
  • Drizzle olive oil over crusts and brush evenly
  • Slice cooked sausage and arrange over the 4 flatbreads
  • Evenly distribute sauteed vegetables and cheese
  • Bake for 8-10 mins
  • Add a small handful of arugula and a drizzle of olive oil
